Years inside the NHS CHC system
Munya has spent years on the NHS side of the CHC assessment. He has chaired Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, completed Decision Support Tools, and made the eligibility recommendations that determine whether families receive full funding or not.
The pattern that never changed
He saw the same pattern consistently: families whose evidence was framed in clinical terms got different outcomes from families whose evidence was not. The clinical picture was often the same. The framing was not.
Raising concerns
He raised formal safety concerns about the system he worked in: cases where clinical judgements were being directed by managers rather than made by the MDT. He did this in writing, with evidence, through proper channels.
